Just to let you know:
You have to notice that, as Cantobre is a Medieval village (12 th century) there is no through traffic: cars are parked at the entrance of the village, 100 meters from “La Bergerie”. Thanks to this little disadvantage, peace and tranquillity rule the day and time does not seem to have passed here. The village is a historic site, within the Grands Causses National Park, and is is fully restored. Perched on a huge rock 100 meters above the rivers Dourbie and Trévézel, overhanging two valleys, it is an area of outstanding beauty with wildlife watching (beavers).
Only fifteen people live in the village all year round, so the supermarket, shops, cafés and restaurants are 5 kilometres away, in Nant.

LOCATION:
Cantobre is located in South Aveyron, 25 kilometres (a short drive) south of Milliau, which is known for its gigantic viaduct
The village is at the junction of the Gard and Hérault, within reach of the “Cévennes” as well as the “Causses” and the “Larzac”, unspoilt natural sites.
Yet, the free motorway that links Béziers, Montpellier, Clermont Ferrand and Paris is only 20 kilometres away. The Mediterranean is about 1 hour and thirty minutes’ drive, but well worth the visit for the endless sandy beaches of Cap d’Agde, Marseillan, Sète, Palavas and the “Grande Motte”.
Montpellier international airport is within easy driving distance - (1h30 mins), there is also a railway station with TGV connections to Paris.

HISTORIC AND CULTURAL SITES:
- The Millau viaduct
- The Templiers cites of Ste Eulalie de Cernon, St Jean d’Alcas, La Couvertoirade, La Cavalerie
- Sylvanès Abbey (with its sacred music festival held in summer)
- The farms and crafts trail (crafts and local products)
- Micropolis (The Insects cite)
- The promontory of the vultures
- The Roquefort caves
